The Watsons – better known as Team Angel Wolf – spend every weekend taking on challenges that would leave most of us breathless.
What’s even more impressive is that since 2014, lifelong triathlon fan Nick has been joined by son Rio, 13, who has a rare chromosome disorder.
Now devoted sister, Tia, 10 (she’s Little Wolf) has joined the pack. Earlier this month, her and Rio took part in their first triathlon without Nick, a former Royal Marine and fitness expert.
Together they tackled a 200m swim, 8km cycle and 1.25km run, with Tia propelling Rio around Mamzar Park in a specially-designed buggy and kayak to complete the 2XU Triathlon Series.
Super chilled Tia says: “I see my dad racing with my brother, Rio, who is disabled, every weekend as part of TeamAngelWolf; this all seems pretty normal to me now. Rio loves races! I know dad does this to bring awareness of people with disabilities and to help inspire people to get healthy.”
Proud mum Delphine adds: “It was beautiful to witness, the cheers, tears, support and motivation they received from other athletes, spectators, volunteers, race management and friends that came to support – thank you to you all!
“We are so grateful to have them both in our lives…we learn from them both everyday. Watch out world, be prepared for change, they are on a mission!”
