Fly high after dark for a good cause with Xline Dubai

XDubai Zipline RamadanLimited edition zip-line runs will be taking off after dark over Ramadan.

Remember the Xline Dubai Marina? We screamed ourselves hoarse traversing its one-kilometre long wires. You know, the ones that propel riders from one of the Amwaj towers in JBR, at speeds of up to 80 kilometres an hour to land outside Dubai Marina Mall.

Now adrenalin seekers can do it after dark and help a good cause too. The Xline will stay open during Ramadan and limited edition night rides will take place after sunset each Wednesday from 23rd May.

In the spirit of the Holy Month, 100 per cent of proceeds from these post-sunset scream-a-thons will go to the Al Jalila Foundation, which was founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, in April 2013, to transform lives through medical education and research.

The #DareToDonate campaign rides out from 8pm to 9.30pm on 23rd May, 30th May, 6th June and 13th June and a limited number of tickets for each evening are available for AED 850 each. From the video, it looks like you’ll get your very own glow up as you zoom past the twinkling skyscrapers of Dubai Marina and you’ll definitely receive videos and photos from a helmet-mounted Go-Pro.

Daytime spots during Ramadan are still available from 10am-3pm, Monday to Saturday. Tickets for these cost AED 650 per person or AED 1,200 for two, including the aforementioned digital proof of your bravery.

Mohammed Javad, General Manager of XDubai, says: “During the Holy Month, and in particular during the Year of Zayed, we wanted to express this gratitude in a way that will have a lasting and meaningful effect on the community. Every day we bring joy and laughter to those who visit our parks or experience the XLine. Now, by offering a new special night-time experience on the XLine during Ramadan, we are transforming the joyful moments we are known for into actual donations which in turn, will support the Al Jalila Foundation in their important work.”

Want to ride?

All riders must be aged 12 to 65 and under 18s accompanied by their legal guardian. Minimum height for zipliners is 130cm, weighing 50kg-100kg and in a good medical condition.
