You can do yoga anywhere, anytime, but tapping into interconnectedness is easier when you’re amongst a sea of like minds. The fourth International Yoga Day takes place on Thursday (21st June) and there are a whole stack of groovy yogic goings in Dubai this year. To celebrate all yogis’ day, Yoga Ashram is offering a trio of complimentary courses. Start the day with a Total Yoga session (7.15am), follow up with some Sun Salutations (9am) and round the evening off with a spot of Sri Sri Yoga (6.15pm). They also have a free class for seniors this Saturday (23rd June, 4pm), because you’re never too old to stretch your horizons.

Yin Yoga involves a lot of stretching and stillness, which is harder than it sounds, but definitely very relaxing. Piloga’s take on the practice adds candlelight and soft music for maximum zen out. Try out a 60-minute class for free and trust us, you’ll want to stay on the mat for longer.

Though it will already have a headstart on you, salute the Earth’s life-giving star with an hour of sun salutations at GFX in Mirdif. By the time you finish, you’ll have completed 108 of the yoga sequences known as sun salutations. The studio provides yoga mats and parking is free for two hours, so it really is that easy.
