Did you (like the rest of us) fall in love with Channing Tatum and his dancing in the original Step Up film, or do you and your partner fancy shaking a leg just like Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s Dirty Dancing?

If you practice dance moves in front of the TV after watching an episode of Dancing with the Stars, then this opportunity is perfect for you.
Dubai’s dance enthusiasts are invited to join James and Alex Studios’ free dance week (FDW) from the 1st-6th September to learn a variety of styles from some of the best choreographic talent in the region.
Back for its fifth year running, the FDW helps decide which dance form you enjoy best through free dance classes on a range of genres from salsa, bachata, kizomba, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, street dance, Zumba and yoga.
Opened in 2012 by two of Dubai’s most successful salsa dancers, James Castro and Alex de Smet, the dance haven boasts three stunning studios and 372 square metre of space in Dubai’s Media City.
If you’re convinced and want to perfect your grooving skills, then all you have to do is sign up, turn up and learn as many styles as you like. Each student can take one class per genre during that week and adults and children are welcome. Be warned, it’s bound to be popular, so dance classes will be on a first come, first served basis.
Free classes from 1st-6th September, 2pm-10pm on Sunday-Thursday, 10am-10pm on Saturday (closed Friday). James and Alex Dance Studio, Concord Tower, Dubai Media City.
