A huge free festival of yoga is back to chill us all out.
Yogafest Dubai returns to Dubai Internet City Amphitheatre for two full days from Thursday (15th November). The grassy lakesides will welcome more than 5,000 fitness enthusiasts, eager to namaste-slay their way to relaxation.
Immerse yourself in 150 classes – it’s not only yoga that’s on the timetable, but Pilates, dance, meditation and the Chinese art of qi gong. Around the physical sessions, those interested in learning can take part in talks and workshops on healthy living, family nutrition and yoga philosophy.
New for 2018 is the women-only Shakti Tent and Jalila Tent for people of determination. For those coming with children, the dedicated Family Tent has yoga classes for kids, mums-to-be and their other halves. Eco-friendly yoga accessories are on sale too, from leggings to homemade aromatherapy sprays, and all the eats are vegetarian.
Technically, Yogafest is free to attend, but organisers are asking for donations towards a good cause – to support the Al Jalila Foundation’s Ta’alouf programme and give six weeks of training to the parents of child with learning disabilities.
Register at www.eventbrite.com for a free ticket, which gets you ‘first come, first served access’ to any class in seven tents over 2.5 days. Remember to bring a yoga mat, or it’ll cost you AED 35 to hire one.
Don’t leave your furry friend at home either – Yogafest Dubai is dog-friendly too!
