Made a commitment to health in 2019? Puppy Pilates could be the easiest sell to the exercise shy – workout surrounded by cute doggoes.
The canine-friendly classes are back for their first session of the new year, after launching in April 2018.
Dog owners can join the first session on Saturday at Dogwalk doggy daycare centre, Al Quoz, on Saturday (19th January) from 4pm-5pm. There Pilates practitioner Kirsty MacPherson-Wright from Phoenix Rising will lead pooches and their parents through an hour-long practice. After that, there’ll be classes every month at either Dog Walk or Alserkal Avenue.
Classes are suitable for adults and dogs that are up to date with their vaccinations. Even if you don’t have a dog, come along anyway. You must book in advance, as there are limited places.
Kirsty says: “Rather than leaving your dog at home while you go to the gym or a class, you can involve them in the movement. Lots of Pilates exercises are playful in nature and that makes it more fun for the dog. There is also an opportunity for extra bonding with your pet, and for the dogs to socialise with other dogs.”
Classes are AED 95. 4pm on 19th January, Dogwalk, Al Quoz, near Al Quoz Mall. Pre-booking is essential and you must supply a copy of your dog’s vaccination book ahead of the event. To register and for the timetable, visit www.animalagencyuae.com
