Still striving to start that health kick for 2019? There’s a new run that might inspire you to pull those trainers on.
The first-ever Dubai Canal Run takes place on 15th February. There are actually three runs taking place, across one, five and 10-kilometre routes. With breath-taking views across the water, it’s the perfect way to get the whole family exercising together.
Oman Insurance and Bupa Global have partnered with athletics events organisers Race.ME to organise the race, which aims to help runners have fun and build healthier habits.
If you need any more incentive, running is an excellent way to burn calories and boosts the brain’s endorphin production in the brain, which will lift your spirits and improve your mood. Add in the amazing views along the 3.2-kilometre waterway and relaxing sounds of the Canal’s waterfall, and you’ve got a race for people of all ages and abilities.
Entry fees start from AED 50 for the one-kilometre kids’ race, AED 150 for the five-kilometre beginners’ course and AED 150 for the 10km challenge (all prices exclude VAT). For that you’ll get a race pack and parents who take part in one of the longer race can join their little ones in the children’s run for free.
