Summer fun run are taking place around Ibn Battuta Mall

Ibn Battuta, mall, mall walk, exercise

Don’t let your step count suffer over the summer – join an indoor fun run at Ibn Battuta Mall.

On Saturday (15th June), timed runs and walks are taking place at the world’s largest themed mall.

The inaugural event begins at 8.30am, before most of the shops open. Meet in the China Court for a warm-up session led by trainers from Fitness First.

Once you’re fully stretched out, walk, jog or sprint 2.5 kilometres or 5 km on a specially-created track that covers all six travel-themed courts of Ibn Battuta Mall: China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia and Andalusia.

Everyone who takes part gets a 25 per cent discount on selected brands of fitness gear from the mall’s branch of Dynamic Sports.

It’s completely free – all you do need to register in advance and bring your own water, towel and trainers.

Afterwards, take a more leisurely stroll around the mall and find out more about the titular Islamic traveller who is said to have visited the lands of every Muslim ruler of his time.

Can’t make this weekend? Organised by RaceME, the mall runs will be a monthly thing over the summer.
