We’re giving away four pairs of tickets to meet Santa at one of Dubai’s most immersive festive experiences, Elf Adventures at WAFI.
Can you feel the crispness in the air? Is that the distant ringing of jingle bells we hear? It’s possible Karen’s turned the air con up to maximum for the third time today, but then again it is also beginning to feel a bit like Christmas isn’t it?
And if you want an instant booster of the yuletide feels straight into your circulatory system, traditionally there are few finer places to do that, than at WAFI’s annual festive takeover. It is the quintessential Middle Eastern winter wonderland.
This year the Christmas cheer begins at 5pm on the 5th December with Santa presiding over a delightfully wholesome tree-lighting ceremony and it lasts all the way to Christmas Eve, 24th December. There’ll also be a carol-singing service by the kids of Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, on the 5th, ensuring the ceremony stays lit.
Throughout the build-up to the big day, adults and children can come and visit the Elf Village at Wafi. Will the hard-working elf unit be able to get all the toys finished before the 25th? You’d have to be a cotton-headed ninnymuggins to bet against them.
If your little ones want to meet Father C, tickets for the grotto are just AED 70. Admission gets each child the gift of a soft toy and a framed photograph with Santa. Regardless of whether they’ve been naughty or nice. The ticket also entitles the children to a steamy indulgent cup of hot chocolate and a mince pie at Biella.
Older kids are catered for too. Kids over 10 can take a hike up Elf Mountain and carve up the slopes with the thrilling ski simulator. It’s included in the cost of the grotto ticket, or a separate pass can be purchased for AED 20.
Visitors to WAFI’s own North Pole will also find an arts & crafts zone, an area where you can catch classic Christmas movies and a festive market courtesy of Carrefour. It’s the best cure for a case of the humbugs that we know of.
This competition has now closed. Thank you to all that took part. The winners were: Vihashini Sekar, Sarah Whitehead, EMMA GEREL ALMERIA, Sheila Marie Gonzales
