As date night spots go, this would be pretty special – two interlocking heart lakes in the Dubai desert.
Heart eyes emoji explosion – the emirate’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed the lakes in an Instagram snap on Saturday (17th November). Well, actually we shared a snap of them earlier in the month by local pixel wizard @aljvd, but like all good love stories, they’d been surrounded in mystery until now.
Seems you can visit the Love Lake, which is close the Last Lake of Al Qudra, at the top of the D63, past Arabian Ranches. To help you find the way, it’s now visible on Google Maps – switch on satellite imaging and there it is. Then just follow the signs…
It’s not clear who’s behind the lakes – Sheikh Hamdan, who goes by the name @faz3 on Instagram – posted a pic with the short and simple message ‘To all of you ❤️.’ Trees planted beside waters spell out the word love and we reckon it’s only a matter of time before someone head lakeside to pop the question.
If you’re a true believer that the way to your beloved’s heart is through the stomach, rather than the jewellery store, Al Qudra Lakes has its own horse-themed Last Exit food truck stop.
Have you visited the Love Lake? Tag is in our pics @dubaiweek.
