The best ways to support Pinktober this year

Pinktober has begun and with it, the opportunity to help raise some life-saving cash for breast cancer research. These are just some of the ways you can do your bit in 2019.

Massage and fitness bootcamp at Rixos Premium

The Rixos brand has a range of events happening across its hotel collection to contribute to the #PINKtober fund, but it’s what’s happening the JBR’s Rixos Premium that’s got us tickled pink. You can choose to go hard, with an intense workout at Barry’s Rixos Premium bootcamp, or go for home comforts with a Pretty In Pink Massage and Facial.

Throughout October you can get the 120 minute-long pampering session for AED 850, with 50 per cent of the proceeds being donated to the Al Jalila Foundation. The package includes a custom treatment tailored to your skin type, and a selection of global massage techniques.

On October 25th head to Azure Beach for a special edition of Barry’s famously brutal Bootcamp. Sweat it out in stylish pink athleisure happy in the knowledge that AED 150 of the AED 200 session fee goes directly to charity.

Costa coffee, Think Pink Menu and free breast screenings

For the month of October you’ll be able to get limited edition sweet treats and beverages on Costa Coffee’s Think Pink menu. Show sister solidarity with a sassy pink macaron snack for AED 6, and a pink latte for AED 21. with 100 per cent of the proceeds again going to Al Jalila Foundation.

But that’s not all. In collaboration with Kings College Hospital Dubai, Costa has also organised free private breast examinations in the Costa Coffee store on Al Wasl Road between 20–26 October.

Ignite Pink is Punk

IGNITE's Pink is Punk breast cancer research

IGNITE Pink is Punk returns to Dubai in October with a trio of events to help raise funds and awareness of the need for breast cancer research. The organisers are big on transparency and focused on effective fundraising with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Brest Friends, in association with Al Jalila Foundation.

The wellness-centric events include a back-to-back swim and run, some moonlight yoga and a paddleboarding session. Eccentric pink attire is thoroughly encouraged and there are even spot prizes for the ‘Brest Dressed.’

Events 4th-11th. Registration fees from AED 63. All events take place on Palm Jumeirah. Register now at Registration for the swim/run have sadly already closed, for the yoga on the 3rd October and the 6th October for the SUP.

On Friday the 4th October, Deliveroo will be donating AED 5 from every order out of one of their Deliveroo Editions kitchens (JLT, Hessa, Business Bay) to the Pink is Punk cause. It’s super easy to see which restaurants operate from the Editions kitchens on the app, they each have a little purple tag in the top left-hand corner. And pro-tip, because these kitchens are delivery only – you normally get your food pretty quickly.
