Thanksgiving is also about family. And excessive food consumption. To celebrate these two central pillars of the holiday, Melia Desert Palm has traditional oven-roasted turkey ready for you at RARE’s Friday brunch. Complement the gobble gobbling with gravy and apple sauce, Brussel sprouts with thyme butter, yams and pecan pie. If you want some authentic stars and stripes entertainment with your dinner, head to Souk Madinat’s All American smokehouse, Perry and Blackwelder’s. Their two-course menu serves up turkey, beef or fish for your main course, with seductive sides such as candied yams and creamed cabbage. Dessert options include pies and the American diner classic – chocolate brownie banana split. Yeeeee-haw.

Marea, Marea – reminds us of a West Side story
If you fancy something, erm, fancy – Marea’s Michelin-honoured Chef, Michael White has curated a three-course sharing set menu for Thanksgiving that takes inspiration from New York’s Italian Quarter. Begin your evening with homely meat or squash-filled ravioli, then fill up on a gourmet turkey with herb stuffing, along with all the usual trimmings. For dessert there’s tart apple crisp, or moreish pumpkin pie.

Claw BBQ in Souk Al Bahar is offering more authentic slices of Americana. They’re own man vs food offerings include a choice between pumpkin soup and butternut squash salad to start. Then it’s turkey time of course accompanied by all the ride or die sides like creamed corn, string beans, sweet potato with ancho chili maple glaze, apple and sage stuffing. Pumpkin pie and food sweats round off this amazing festive feast.

Brambles Café in Barsha has teamed up with Dubai Vegan Days to host a food-with-a-face-free Thanksgiving Dinner. Specialising in the world’s yummiest kale brownies, this café is out to prove, you can hit a home-run roast without a morsel of meat. The centerpiece of their dinner involves roasted cabbages, and a cauliflower and sweet potato shepherd’s pie. Mac and cheese and cranberry-orange sauce are side highlights while a yummy tahini banana cake with a berry compote is a must-try dessert!

For those who just want to satiate their sweet tooth on some red, white and gooey puddings, Magnolia Bakery’s classic American pies are the answer. There’s the traditional apple pie topped with a double crust, a pumpkin pie made with spices and maple syrup, a pumpkin praline pie with a flaky crust, topped with brown sugar pecan praline and of course a pecan pie.

Moreish is bringing the famous Geller Thanksgiving to Dubai with their ‘Friends’-themed vegan menu. Phoebe would be very proud of their vegan ‘meatloaf’, the three-way potato (so everyone is happy), there’s plenty of chanberry sauce and Rachel’s trifle is remade with all the right ingredients. Get your inner Joey those stretchy pants and head on over.

Modern American restaurant Ribs & Brews’ slow-cooked barbecue ribs are legit famous. This Thanksgiving, guests can enjoy a themed three-course set menu with all the traditional trimmings and special blended beverages.

Shake it off
The crazy shakers at Black Tap are at it again. For this special American day, they have a Pumpkin Pie CrazyShake. It’s pumpkin spiced and served with a vanilla-frosted rim and mini marshmallows, topped off with a slice of pumpkin pie, a turkey-designed marzipan lollipop and whipped cream. It all comes together with a cherry on top!
