Roald Dahl fans, get excited, you can finally see George, his ‘marvellous’ medicine and his evil expanding Grandma in the flesh.
Words: Zaheda Muntazir
The splendiferous stage show, George’s Marvellous Medicine, is coming to Ductac at Mall of the Emirates from the 13th-17th of November.
Performed by the Birmingham Stage Company and adapted for the stage by award-winning children’s theatre director, David Wood, this acclaimed production has already sold-out in the four times it has performed in the UAE. This means there’s even more reason to book quickly!
The story follows George, a boy with a horribly grumpy grandmother, who takes delight in bullying him. One day, he decides to teach her a lesson, by concocting a formula to replace her medicine – leading to incredibly zany results.
This is a must-see event for Roald Dahl fans aged three and up, both children, and those who are children at heart. Just like George’s grandma once said (before the opposite happened to her),“Never grow up…always down”.
Here is a taste of what is to come:
If your kids are in the mood for more of a classic tale, why not take them to Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which the Northern Ballet will perform at the Madinat Theatre. This is a great way to introduce your little ones aged two and above to the magic of ballet through a familiar fairy tale.
