School holidays are nearly here and if you’re looking for ways to keep excited kids entertained in the run-up to Christmas, here’s a round-up of winter camps for kids of all ages and interests.
Children’s Oasis Nursery, Umm Suqeim
Kids can burn off some energy in the nursery’s outdoor area, take part in music and movement classes, try their hand at baking and much more. Open to two to four year olds (even those not enrolled in the nursery), this homely environmen9t combines sporting activities with delicious and nutritious treats.

Babilou Nurseries, locations around Dubai
From dance to story-reading, painting to stage performance, this nursery chain has it all. Locations in busy Dubai neighbours make Babilou ideal for working parents, or any who simply need a few hours to get things done. They also have a pretty flexible range of timings available. Winter camps take place from 24th December- 4th January, but of course they’re closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Courtyard Playhouse, Al Quoz
Take children on a magical journey to explore books by world famous children’s authors. Qualified teachers will oversee learning in the cosy, purpose-built 70-seater theatre, where children aged four to 12 enjoy story telling, games, mime, role-play, arts, and stagecraft.
Four to eight year old’s sessions take place from 10am-1pm and are themed around Dr Seuss, while nine to 12 spend 2pm-5pm taking a journey through Roald Dahl characters.

Robotics Winter Camp
Coding is the future, so help your kids crack it by signing them up for this tech and IT-focused winter camp. Tiny techies can learn how to build and fly drones, all about Rasberry Pi and flex their digits over coding.
The 90-minute classes are from 16th December-4th January. Some are suitable for ages seven and upwards while other are aimed at young teens.

Join one of six camps around Dubai, where some of the sports on offer are football, dodgeball, basketball, quick cricket and tennis. So whether your son or daughter fancies themselves as a miniature Serena Williams, or a junior Christian Ronaldo they will be able to benefit from the expert coaching, advice and training from the academy’s staff.

British Orchard Nursery
There are 18 nurseries in Dubai and full and half-day camps to sign up for. Split into two age groups – toddlers and foundation – each week kids are introduced to a new story. Covering everything from recycled material, water safety, continents, good manners and matching numbers, little ones are sure to learn and have fun.

French Winter Camp, Oud Metha
French language students and native speakers aged five to nine mix together at an immersive experience based around games, role-play, painting, cooking, arts & crafts and outdoor activities. All children sit together for lunch, which is included.

Oli Oli, Al Quoz
“Tomorrow’s playground” in Al Quoz is the home to two winter camps – building big with spectacular sculptures, then constructing marvellous moving machines. Prices are AED 1,200 and AED 950 respectively and the camps are suitable for five to 10 year olds.

Try tree-surfing, zip-lining, rope crossing in the thrilling Aventura tree-top adventure park. This adrenalin-pumping winter camp in Mushrif Park is perfect for seven to 17 year olds with a head for heights, who will be split into three ages groups.

From pottery to arts and crafts and magic, Ductac will make sure that kids aged six to 12 have a memorable winter holiday. Early bird drop offs and late picks up are available for this popular annual camp at Mall of the Emirates. Each week has a different theme and the final week is Magic Camp with Magic Phil himself.

Innovator’s Club, Downtown Dubai
Teens from 12 to 18 get a taste of what it’s like to innovate and invent through tinkering, programming and electronics. Send them to the Impact Hub in Souk Al Bahar for 10 days of edu-tainment and after that they can be part of the Innovators’ Club, which meets every Saturday from 4th January. Arabic Winter Camp
Fun and activities are a great way for children aged three to 12 to make new friends, have fun and practice Arabic. Each day at Iqra’a includes two hours of intense Arabic, then sports, science and more. Find the camp in JBS Jumeirah.
