Not long left to make the most of being outdoors in Dubai. What better way to spend the final weeks of al fresco fun than at an urban beach and workout space?
The Block is a cool new park along d3’s waterfront that’s going to be a hit with kids big and small. There is tons of green space for them to run about and an urban beach for getting that sandcastle fix in the city. Other ways to let off some steam outside include basketball and volley ball courts, skate park, climbing wall and workout equipment.
Kiddoes can try some turndowns on their BMX or monkey about on pull-up bars, while parents chill by the picnic tables, have a game of table tennis, or simply watch the boats go by on Dubai Canal.
Completely free of charge to enter, the park is open until midnight. There’s plenty of parking available and it’s also accessible by water taxi, which would be a really fun way to rock up. However you get there, do it before 14th April to catch the Miami Vibes Food Festival and snack on eats from 30 street food vendors and soak up live performances from local artists and DJs on weekends.
The innovative park has also got great green credentials, as it’s made from 27 tonnes of concrete used during construction of the canal area. Here’s a cool time-lapse by architects Desert Ink showing how the project came together.
Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, CEO of d3, says: “The space is unique to the region and can be used to host events for the d3 community. We welcome everyone to come and explore our ever-growing creative neighbourhood.”
