If you live or work around Dubai Silicon Oasis, this new park is just in time for the cooler weather.
North Park joins nearby Lake Park and Central Park and has a play area for kids, football pitch, tennis court, volleyball court, skate park and places to eat and drink.
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority opened the 35,000 square metre park near Cedre Villas to give people a green space to hang out in, however you like to spend your downtime.
Set in lush landscaped gardens, the park has its own outdoor gym and a 500 metre jogging and cycling track, because exercise is always easier in the sunshine. There are water fountains where you can top up your water bottle as you go. If your park life is more about kicking back, the park’s 100 per cent solar-powered smart benches can recharge your mobile. Hi-tech features also extend to the park’s lighting system that operates using motion sensors, so you can visit after dark too.
It’s the ideal spot for families – there are barbecue stations for those birthday cook-outs and the playground has a sandpit and a dedicated area for toddlers. For older kiddoes, there are swings, a slide, a jungle gym, and a play house. Us, jealous?
A car park has space for 91 cars and it’s all been designed with strollers and wheelchairs in mind.
While some of Dubai’s parks have a small admission charge, entry to North Park is completely free.
North Park is open from 8am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and from 8am to 11.30pm on weekends and public holidays.
