It’s big, it’s full of blooms and it’s back for another season. Dubai Miracle Garden returns for a seventh outing.
The world’s largest natural flower garden wants us to wish upon a star as it becomes home to everyone’s favourite Disney characters. Among the floral masterpieces made of more than 150 million flowers for this time round are Disney Avenue, a Floral Castle and Floating Beds of flowers.
Mickey, everyone’s favourite cartoon mouse, appeared at the 72,000 square metre petal packed space Dubailand earlier this year, to mark his 90th anniversary. The 18-metre floral structure clinched the garden’s third world record, so they’ve invited along some friends of Mickey’s.
Other exciting new things to do for the season include a Floral Castle where visitors can enjoy a bite to eat; a nightscape that’s all prettily lit up and you can chill out in hammocks under hanging gardens; a giant flower-adorned play zone with trampolines and music, dance and Zumba sessions in an outdoor amphitheatre.
The botanical project has added two large lakes and around them you’ll find three life-size elephant sculpture fountains spraying water. More 3D sculptures of 12-metre animal characters have also been created and a first for this season is an eye-catching display of flowers 3D mapped on a floral screen.
Of course everyone’s favourites can still be seen, including the Emirates A380 modelled from blooms, which won Guinness’s World Record title in 2016 for ‘the world’s largest floral structure’
An absolute must-see for visitors and r.esidents alike, Dubai Miracle Garden has flowers in 70 varieties sprouting out from cars, houses and even a giant floating tap. Getting there is now easier too, as the 105 bus route runs every 20 minutes from Mall of the Emirates. Check wojhati.rta.ae for a full timetable.
