Half price dining and robot waiters – Tanuki is living in the future

Tuesday at Tanuki might just be our favourite new date night. There’s the huge range of tasty Asian cuisine, 50 per cent off the total bill and you can get the menu read to you by a robot.

Not enough to seal the deal? Tanuki is located on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall, with an outside space that also has incredible Burj Khalifa views.

You can select your mains from a list of modern Japanese, Chinese and exotic fusion dishes. There’s an extensive choice of sushi and maki plates (from AED 30; platters from AED 120); dim sum (from AED 19); ramen (from AED 37); teriyaki (from AED 55).

Tanuki also serves its own version of a taco and a handsome interpretation of an Italian classic that invites Mexican and Japanese cuisine to the plate party – the sake pizza. That’s tranches of salmon folded on a tortilla, served with guacamole and chillies.

Those dining between 6pm and 11pm on Tuesday get 50 per cent off their total bill. Food and beverages. Every. Single. Week.

Earlier we mentioned the restaurant’s menu-enabled robot, a cybernetic addition to the wait staff that apparently has no name (spooky). So let’s call him Steve. Steve is on call to help with those afflicted by indecision, by being ever-present and ever-patient.

Taking advantage of the new dnata check-in service? Why not use it as your pre-flight sayonara meal.

50 per cent off every Tuesday from 6pm-11pm. Tanuki Dubai, lower ground level, The Dubai Mall. 04 580 8228.
