It’s back and it’s brighter than ever! Dubai Garden Glow returns for season two.
After a super successful launch in winter 2015, the AED 30 million project glow-in-the-dark attraction in Zabeel Park re-opens on Sunday, 6th November.
New for 2016 are an underwater world and a mini Jurassic Park with 100 animatronic models.
Watch out for the spinosaurus – not only the largest of the carnivorous dinosaurs, they weight up to 20 tonnes and used their distinctive sail to cool down (and impress ladies).
We also spotted a diplodocus lurking in the trees. One of the longest dinos, the harmless herbivores munched through grass during the Jurassic period, so feel free to get up close and say hello.
As well as the new exhibits, there’s a chance to check out last year’s favourites – a model of the Burj Khalifa made from 300,000 brightly-coloured bottles and Grand Sheikh Zayed Mosque re-created from 90,000 porcelain cups, plates and spoons.
Open until the end of April, the first-of-its-kind neon wonderland glows by night by inspires with art by day, plus packs a serious message about the environment and recycling.
Although it opens at 4pm, it’s best seen after dark, when each of the 32 installations has a magical glow (because you can’t see the wires and plugs).
So, head to gates six of the 47.5 hectare park, hand over AED 60 per person (children under three and people with disabilities go free) and glow for it!
