Strap on your proton pack and get ready step into the eerie underground where you’re going to make some evil spirits wish they’d never been, erm, born.
Totally immersive virtually reality game Ghostbusters: Dimension makes its Middle Eastern debut when it arrives in Dubai next month – the first time the attraction has left the US.
A US start-up The Void teamed up with Sony and Ghostbusters Creator, Ivan Reitman, to premiered the award-winning exhibit at Madame Tussaud’s New York in summer 2016. Now it’s set to scare at Meraas’ The Beach from 24th March.
Audiences will step into another world that’s part VR and part elaborate stage, where the virtual world is mapped on to the real one, meaning players can feel walls, sit in chairs and even sense when they’re touched by a ghost.
Along with a partner, you’ll strap on a customised headset, haptic vest that will shake you to the core, a backpack computer and a sophisticated tracking system that have so far only been seen at a special events – including an appearance at TED.
We defy you not to jump as you track a supernatural foe through the street of New York – including a menacing Stay Puft Marshmallow Man – complete with real-time interactive effects that you see, hear and smell (no idea, but it sounds gross).
Cliff Plumer, CEO at The Void, said: “We are excited to partner with Meraas to bringThe Void to Dubai, one of the most innovative leisure and entertainment destinations on the planet. The cutting-edge innovation we’ve seen in Dubai is a natural fit for the hyper-reality experienceThe Void will bring residents and visitors.”
