Lights, lasers, bubbles and fireworks combine in a spectacular show – and you could be part of it.
Oh, and this new event is completely free! Couldn’t ask for more, right? Called Imagine – A Child’s Dream, it opens at Dubai Festival City next week, on Thursday, 4th May.
As well as the aforementioned eye-catching attractions, shoppers will be treated to a live performance by the winner of The Voice Kids Arabia 2016, Lynn Al Hayek, when the 12-year-old Lebanese singing sensation makes her UAE debut at 8pm.
Sky-filling attraction Imagine launched in December 2016 and every night thousands watched as the façade of the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City Hotel become a huge screen five times larger than in the biggest cinema.
This episode is equally impressive and when the sun falls, airplanes, whales, a treehouse and giant dancing robots will fill the skies above Festival Bay as reveries become reality – check out this stunning video of last year’s show for a taster of what’s to come.
Imagine’s debut bagged a Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Water Screen Projection and this year’s episode will be attempting a second world record – The Largest Permanent Projection Mapping in the World.
Visitors will also have a chance to become part of entertainment – for two weeks starting on 4th May, they can draw their dreams in a Dream Station in Festival Square, which will then be projected on to the InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
Steven Cleaver, director of Shopping Centres Dubai, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, says: “The new show will really demonstrate what our global attraction, Imagine can do. Our shoppers will be amazed at the technology that brings this story to life – something that they have never seen before.”
More info at festivalcentre.com. Dream Station open 6pm to mall closing, fireworks from 8pm. The show will be every hour, alternating between A Child’s Dream and the 2016 show, Stardancer.
