Art with heart

Young photographers aged 18 to 25 capture what Ramadan means to them through an exhibition on show at Mall of the Emirates from now until 16th June. Find the expressive images in the mall’s opulent Luxury Wing and admire them all the more for knowing the snappers are people of determination who captured all their frames around the mall in Al Barsha.

Monday, 4th June

RAK camp

RAK Diabetes Center Dubai-minTake advantage of shorter working hours and have a comprehensive diabetes check-up at RAK Diabetes Center in Jumeirah. The walk-in camp will be open from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm. Medics will screen blood sugar level, blood pressure, BMI, height weight and waist measurements and say even if you haven’t been diagnosed with diabetes, everyone should have a yearly check-up.

Old Iftar Trail Gulf Photo Plus

Take the path less trodden and fill your Instagram feed along the way. Gulf Photo Plus and Frying Pan Adventures are leading sunset walking trails around Old Dubai. Bring a camera and the tenacity to tromp about outdoors for three hours. You’ll be rewarded with the sights of sounds of Dubai’s heart at one of the most holy times of year, plus chai and snacks after iftar.

A one-off immersive art experiences takes over the new Renaissance Downtown in Business Bay. To mark the hotel chain’s annual Global Day of Discovery, we’re all welcome to check out a work celebrating the centenary of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. ‘Navigators’ will then take you on a tour of the hotel to see intriguing pieces, interactive installations and ‘dark art’ only discoverable by UV light.
