Jamiroquai and Snowpatrol to play at Emirates Jazz Festival

Jay Kay, Jamiroquai

Space Cowboy Jay Kay and his band Jamiroquai are the next headliners confirmed for Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival.

The acid jazz funksters made a big noise in the British charts in the nineties and noughties with hits ‘Virtual Insanity’ and ‘Space Cowboy’. They’ve been steadily recording since, with the eight studio album Automaton released in March 2017. If you’re old enough, you’ll remember frontman Jay Kay was also known for his elaborate hats and his love of fast cars.

We’ll hear some throwback ’90s numbers and see ‘The Cat in the Hat’s choice of headwear on 21st February when they close the second day of Jazz Fest at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. The three-day music fest is happening there between the 20th-22nd of February 2019.

Stadium rock band Snow Patrol were the first artists to confirm as headliners. Their talented guitar-based music was one of the shining lights of the Britpop scene and while not jazz musicians, they’re accomplished stadium rockers. However Jamiroquai have proper jazz credentials. Nice.

More big announcements are to follow and we will continue to keep you updated.

Tickets will go on sale at Virgin Megastores and www.dubaijazzfest.com. AED 350 (Regular), AED 550 (Golden Circle), AED 750 (Lounge), AED 1,250 (VIP with food and beverage package).
