DIFC’s private members’ club welcomes us all on NYE. There’s a terrace overlooking the Burj Khalifa and a new Botanical Garden for those jungle ‘Gram shots. Three courses of fine food start from AED 250, rising to AED 500 with beverages. On the menu, there’s such swanky delights as wild trout with tarragon butter sauce and mulled grape poached pears. Celebrations start from 7pm with a complimentary glass of bubbles.

Early (ish) birds catch the party worm. Entry to Tamanya Terrace is free until 10pm. After that, it’s AED 100, with a free glass of bubbles. There’ll be plenty of reasons to hit the dancefloor and hang about until midnight to see the various displays of fireworks exploding along Dubai’s coast.

Scream your way into the new year at Dubai’s huge indoor theme park. On stage, there are performances from Indian singer Shibani and Filipino group Wishful5. There’s also the no small matter of the finale of reality singing show TheOneUAE LIVE. As the clock counts down to explore four ‘adventure zones’ of Marvel and Cartoon Network-themed rides, Lost Valley full of dinosaurs and IMG Boulevard of 25 stores and 28 places to eat and drink.

Got an annual pass? There’s no extra charge for entry to the end of year party.

For the best view of the Atlantis fireworks, head to The Pointe this NYE. Dining deals abound at Palm Jumeirah’s new attraction and we like the look of Lebanese restaurant Al Sadafi. Here adults get to browse buffet stations for AED 300 and children under 12 years eat for AED 150.

Reel Cinema at The Pointe is holding free movie screenings for kids at 7pm and 9pm. Under 12s get a free meal at Guy Fieri’s Kitchen, where adults get three courses of solid American comfort food and unlimited soft drinks for AED 250. Around the attraction, a live DJ, roaming entertainment and giveaways complete your evening’s entertainment.

Feel the love tonight with Rudimental and Sigala at Zero Gravity. As usual, a day of shenanigans builds up to the evening gig under a firework-lit sky, but the beachside pool bar is offering guests changing facilities and lockers, so you can go from day to night with ease.

Get your Tron on with a spectacular display of LED screen virtual fireworks at this trendy new bar that’s part speakeasy part gastro eatery. The Vegas-ness doesn’t end there – there’s a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party theme, so expect an indulgent food and drink package that’s available between 8pm and 1am for the thoroughly humble price of AED 300.

Only 30 seats are available at this Asian street food spot and diners must bag a spot before 27th December. For AED 99, you’ll be served tasty bites from the Wok Boyz menu, including the popular build-your-own wok option. Watch over the Burj Khalifa fireworks and enjoy.

New kid on the block marks its first NYE with a minimum AED 495 spend that rivals most Downtown diners. Modern soul food like duck pizza and lamb shoulder for mostly under AED 100 awaits, along with hip and happy staff and a neck-crackingly good view of the Burj Khalifa fireworks show. What to wear? The theme is sequins and sneakers.

Global Village

In keeping with its international flavour, fireworks at Global Village will go off in sync with seven new years around the world. From 8pm (UAE time) with China, to 1am for Moscow, there’ll be shows across the evening. Stunt performers and family entertainment, plus food kiosks from a wide spread of countries keep us all entertained in between.

Ras Al Khaimah

RAS AL KHAIMAH FIREWORK

Ready for a road trip? RAK is making yet another end-of-year bid for a Guinness World Record, with a 12-minute firework display. There are viewing areas at Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village. Amongst the sky show you’ll catch stilt walkers, mime artist, bands and food trucks. More than 27,000 parking spaces and non-stop feeder buses should make getting around easy.

Watch the sun sets on 2018 from Barasti Beach Bar. Sweet beats come from hip-hop heavy hitter Fatman Scoop and Dutch dance duo the Bassjackers. Entry includes a welcome drink. Ladies, head there during the day for free entry and free-flowing frozen pink grape up until 5pm. Cheers!

See rockets popping off over the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and Atlantis from onboard the RTA’s Dubai Ferry, Waterbus and abras. Tours start from AED 125 and set off from 9.30pm. Kids are welcome and under twos even get on board for free.

Not one, but four fireworks shows await at Festival City. Ring in the new year with a one-off episode of light and laser show IMAGINE at 7pm, followed by live music from Australian singer Katie Elle Jackson at 8pm (who does a mean rendition of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, FYI). Firework displays follow at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm, with a grand finale at midnight.

Want eats and a seat? Plenty of the mall’s restaurants will overlook the fireworks – Nando’s three-course NYE menu is AED 600 per couple and AED 150 for children.
