The Farmers’ Market returns to Bay Avenue this weekend. It’s an organic edibles extravaganza hosted by Baker & Spice. Get ready to go off-road as the Pulse off-road community bike ride returns to Sports City on Friday. Register from 7am for five, 10 and 20-kilometre treks through the desert. At the finish line, there’s a Canal Garden market where riders can refuel and kids are amused.

Hey Mickey you’re so flexible
This weekend Dubai Miracle Garden is turning into an al fresco yoga studio, where families can take part in a one-hour group class. The session on Saturday will have you doing the downward dog in Disney Avenue, in front of giant floral versions of Mickey Mouse and his pals. Kids under eight have a lot of Disney-themed activities to keep them occupied – including Mickey & Friends face painting, a ball pit and colouring in.

Who doesn’t love listening to a well-told tale? Storytellers from around the world turn Sheherazade on Sharjah’s Al Noor Island this weekend to round off the month-long International Storytelling Festival. If Emirati legends, Celtic ballads, myths of ancient Rome and Egypt to Indian sagas, have you leaning in, be there from 4.30pm.
