Fireworks are a traditional part of the Eid holidays and another must-see display has just been announced.
Dubai Festival City Mall has planned a spectacular show of fireworks synchronised with Arabic music, fountains, lights and lasers. They’re calling it “never seen before,” which means we can’t wait to, erm, see it.
The Eid al Fitr event takes place at 8pm and 10pm on Wednesday (5th June) and Thursday (6th June), so you have two chances to see the skies light up.
Festival City’s year-round 3D attraction Imagine will run alongside the choreographed extravaganza with a one-off Eid special. We can recommend bagging a seat at one of the mall’s 15 waterfront restaurant for the best views of it all.
Free fireworks shows are also taking place at La Mer and Al Seef on the first day of Eid (expected to be Monday, 3rd-Tuesday, 4th June, FYI). The skies there will burst into colour from 9pm (La Mer) and 9.30pm (Al Seef).
A reminder of how the Eid holidays are going to unfold – kids have a full week out of school for the Eid al Fitr break. Government workers will get five days off, beginning Sunday, 2nd June, and ending Thursday, 6th June. Workers in the private sector start four days leave, from Monday, 3rd June.
