Laguna Waterpark’s licensed beach bar, The Bungalow, is probably one of our favourite new hang-out spots. So when we heard that one of our favourite local DJs, Danny Neville – was booked to serve up nostalgic 80s and 90s hooks #OnTheDeck area for the Thursday night TGIT party… We might have done the ‘mixing-the-pudding-bowl’ dance. Go shawty…

Try a free Mandala Vinyasa Flow yoga session lead by one of Dubai’s most charismatic yogis – Nerry Toledo. Mandala means ‘circle’ in Sanskrit and this ancient practice involves calm non-linear movements through 360°, allowing us, hopefully, to connect with the elemental constituents of the universe. Find your yoga mat, find the spot at the event on Kite Beach, find yourself.

The road to fitness
It’s one of the latest, free, ingenious fitness activities announced by the team behind the Dubai Fitness Challenge. On Friday you’ll be able to tick the Sheikh Zayed Road off your fantasy running track list. As much fun as racing Lambourgini’s in your Yeezys would be, safety dictates that the road will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the session. There will be a 5km fun run in addition to a slightly more competitive, but equally fun 10km run. Both routes start and end at Dubai World Trade Centre. And if you set off one of the speed cameras, you know you’re onto a good lap time.
6am. Registration is essential for runners eight years and up. Children under eight can take part in the fun run but do not need to sign up. To get involved, jump on www.platinumlist.net now.
