Need some fun family activities over Spring Break? We’ve got you

SCHOOL'S OUT

The school bells have fallen silent for the end of another semester. Great news for the little ones, but it means that the pressure is on parents to fill those hours with fun and educational distractions.

Dubai is a veritable wonderland of kids entertainment, but sometimes the amount of choice can be as much of a hinderance as it is a help. Meraas have kindly put together a quick round-up of fun facilities that might help you get in some quick parenting wins over the holidays.

HAWAA HAWAA

Hawa Hawa, La Mer

What’s not to like about an inflatable playground at an amazing beachfront location?! Hawa Hawa at La Mer is an outdoor trampoline park which offers two unique dunes and seven peaks for some low-impact, high-intensity fun. The park has been designed to allow different age groups to safely play alongside each other. Jump around, and then head to the beach for a cooling dip in the deep blue sea.

Dh25 (for a 15 minute session), make sure you bring socks. Sun-Thur: 2pm-10pm
Fri-Sat: 8am-10pm. 04317 3999

The Green Planet, City Walk

If you’ve not already been, a trip to The Green Planet is one of those genuinely breathtaking Dubai moments. The bio dome located in City Walk is home to over 3,000 plants and animals in an enclosed ecosystem which recreates the tropical rainforest thanks to the world’s largest indoor man made life sustaining tree. Spectacular stuff, a trip here is informative and entertaining thanks in large part to the expert staff who help raise awareness about the delicate balance of nature and the ecosystem.

Wire World Adventure Park, Kite Beach

Kite Beach is perfect at this time of year. A session at Wire World takes things to another level, quite literally. The elevated wire obstacle course on the beach is a thrill a minute. Hook up to the automatic high wire rope belay, and zip, scale and zoom your way around. Or blast off with the Bungee Ejection, an extreme and unforgettable experience which will get the adrenaline pumping.   Little ones can try Accrobranche Junior, a safe and controlled environment which allows kids to explore low ropes and giant caterpillar nets, bridges and barrels. Great fun.

Packages from AED 40. Sun-Tue: 12pm-8pm. Wed-Sat: 9.30pm-9pm. Kite Beach. 04 559 4889.

xpark jr

For the smaller ones, check out XPark Jr (also at kite beach):

It’s only just opened up (next to the XDubai skate park), but it’s a fantastic little adventure playground for ages 1 and up. Full of streams and water features, an arts & crafts centre, mini climbing walls and obstacle courses. It also has a petting zoo, a sand play area, and a mud kitchen. Our only question is, why don’t they have one for us adults?

AED45 per child for 2 hours, AED25 for every extra hour. Sat-Weds: 8am-6pm
Thurs-Fri: 8am-8pm. 35a Mizmelah Street, Kite Beach. 04 328 4175.
