Although we don’t know for sure which day Eid Al Fitr will fall on, holidays for private and public sector workers have been confirmed.
The break for Government workers will start on Saturday, 24th June (that’s the 29th day of Ramadan), according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).
If Eid falls on Sunday, 25th June, work will resume on the Wednesday, but if it lands on the Monday, 26th June, the holiday will still begin on Saturday, but continue until Sunday, 2nd July.
There will also be a paid two-day holiday for private sector employees on the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr.
Eid Al Fitr mark the breaking of fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan – it actually means ‘the festival of breaking the fast’ – and its start will be confirmed by a moon sighting committee.
Keep checking back to find out when private sectors holidays will be and fun things to do over the Eid break.
