This is a public service announcement that there’s still time to claim 50 per cent off Dubai traffic and impoundment fines.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, made the announcement in June. If you haven’t taken advantage of it already, remember that the discount will apply to fines incurred in 2016 ONLY (so not 2017) paid before the end of the year.

Where can drivers pay fines?
Check and pay fines at traffic.rta.ae (you’ll need your traffic file number, a GCC or UAE debit or credit card and the date of birth of the licence holder). Penalties can also be cleared at police stations, 210 Zoom stores and fine payment machines in mall. You can also settle them through your bank, at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) offices, police stations and now branches of UAE Exchange.
Downloaded one of the RTA’s app? If you’ve linked up your traffic file, you can check for fines on there too.
What happens if you don’t pay?
Fines must be paid before you re-register the car or renew your driving licence
