Everybody is talking about last night’s quake in the Middle East.
A strong earthquake has hit the northern region of Iraq, close to the border with Iran and tremors were felt here in Dubai.
Sadly the death toll for the quake now stands at more than 200, with many more injured and significant damage to buildings.
The disaster happened at about 10.20pm UAE time and was classed as 7.3 on the Richter scale – so that’s a ‘major earthquake’ capable of causing ‘serious damage over a large area.’
The quake was centred 32 km outside the eastern Iraqi city of Halabja, where thousands of people ran out into the streets in terror and electricity supplies have been cut off in some area.
Residents across Dubai took to social media to report feeling the ground trembling and homes shaking, but as fortunately no-one was hurt.
Some managed to capture the event on camera:

Some were reporting odd sensations
Some of us felt literally none at all
And others felt the seismic shifts, but carried on regardless
