Road closures: The Dubai Tour cycling returns from Tuesday

The Dubai Tour returns this week, bringing incredible sporting spectatorship opportunities, but also road closures across the UAE.

A combination of careful preparation and the tight race-packed nature of the races means that closures will only be brief. Each section of road affected will be shut for periods of about 45 minutes – one hour between 6th-10th February

The scheduled closures begin at 10am on each of the five days and conclude at about 3.30pm, with each section closed and then opened sequentially along the route. This diagram below shows where’s going to be shut and when.

Day 1 – 6th February

Stage 1

Start Point: Skydive Dubai, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street on to Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, interior of Motor City, Al Qudra Road, Emirates Road, Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road, Mohammed bin Zayed Road, First Al Khail Road, Hessa Street, Shaikh Zayed Road. End point: Palm Jumeirah.

Day 2 – 7th February

Start Point: Skydive Dubai, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street. On to Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, through Dubai Design District, Ras Al Khor Street, Al Aweer Road, Emirates Road through Sharjah. End Point: Ras Al Khaimah.

Day 3 – 8th February

Start point: Skydive Dubai,  King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street. On to Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, Ras Al Khor Street, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Academic City Street, Al Aweer Road and Hatta-Oman Road through Sharjah. End Point: Fujairah.

Day 4 – 9th February

Stage 4Starts

Start point: Skydive Dubai, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street. On to Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, Ras Al Khor Street, Al Aweer Road, Hatta-Oman Road through Sharjah and Fujairah. End point: Hatta.

Day 5 – 10th February

Start point: Skydive Dubai, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street. On to Umm Suqeim Street, First Al Khail Road, Meydan Street, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Ras Al Khor Street, Tunis Street, and Al Nahda Street, Damascus Street, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Seef Street, Al Fahidi Street, Mina Rashid complex, Jumeirah Street, Al Thanya Street, Al Wasl Street, Al Safa Street. End point: City Walk.
