Dubai landmark and restaurant 360 to close down next month

360Panoramic bar and restaurant 360˚ is set to close next month, as part of the grand refurbishment of Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

It’s with great sadness we bring you this news, because 360˚has some of the best sunset views in the whole of the emirate and zipping along the jetty in your chauffeur-driven golf buggy is possible one of the most of ‘doing it for the Dubai ‘gram’ things ever.

As well as being party central, it was also the perfect destination for a romantic meal or to watch the New Year’s fireworks split the sky into glorious fractals.

The permanent fate of the venue is not yet explicitly confirmed. But it looks like Jumeirah Restaurant Group’s popular scenic spot will not reopen after the hotel renovations.

But is it farewell for now and not goodbye for ever? We’re wondering if 360˚will be replaced, absorbed or even relaunched. Man-made peninsula Marsa Al Arab will add 2.2km of beachline to the area, as well as new leisure and entertainment facilities (including the relocated Wild Wadi), in a project that combines the engineering vision of Dubai Holdings and Jumeirah Group.

Ground has already been broken on the site completion is expected ahead of Expo 2020. We saw an architectural model at last year’s Cityscape and it looked precisely as incredible as you would expect from the partners involved. Could the new 360˚ be lurking in there somewhere? Only time will tell.

For now, 360˚ can look back on a decade of delighting diners and revelers, of hosting parties and celebrities. It would be wise to expect some sort of wild send-off, a series of epic festivities to bid farewell in the most Gatsby of fashions. Watch this space.

5pm-3am, but not for much longer 😢. Jumeriah Beach Hotel. Call 04 406 8741 for reservations.
