Known for boxing, pool parties, casinos and A-list guests, world-famous Las Vegas hotel Caesars Palace is coming to Dubai, minus one of the aforementioned.
Before 2018 ends, two luxury hotels, a conference centre and beach club will be built on the giant man-made Bluewaters island, off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence, in a collaboration between Caesars Entertainment and Dubai developer Meraas.
While Dubai is not short of a palace or two, this the first Caesars Palace outside of the party city of Vegas and the casino operator’s first non-gaming resort.
Due to open in the last quarter of the year, the 178-room Caesars Palace Bluewaters Dubai, will charm guests with stunning views of currently under-construction big wheel Ain Dubai, six restaurants, one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools, a 630 square-metre spa and a health centre.
Sister hotel Caesars Bluewaters Dubai is equally attractive, with 301 rooms, two outdoor swimming pools and three restaurants that developers are calling “world-class”. Both hotels will have event halls and meeting spaces, and link to a 450-metre private beach.
While we’re excited about the fixtures and fittings of what are undoubtably going to be luxurious hotels, we can’t wait to hear more about the entertainment. Caesars Palace in Vegas plays host to some of the biggest names in showbiz – right now you can book tickets for megastars Elton John, Celine Dion and Rod Stewart – as well as multi-million dollar title fight boxing matches. Caesars Entertainment also owns Vegas’ outrageous theme restaurant Planet Hollywood, operates 39,000 hotel rooms and suites worldwide, and more than 500 restaurants across 53 properties in five countries, so it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing.
Huge artificial island Bluewaters is connected to the mainland by a 265-metre pedestrian bridge. Meraas is also working on a group transit system that will shuttle passengers between the island and Dubai Metro. As well as the 210-metre high wheel attraction with its 48 pods, it’s also home to 10 apartment blocks and 200 shops and restaurants.
