Palm Jumeirah’s latest attraction is basically going to be an enclave for food fanatics.
AED 800 million lifestyle destination The Pointe will have more than 100 restaurants when it opens at the end of 2018. Construction on the site at the tip of The Palm is almost finished, so we could be chilling in its waterfront restaurants overlooking Atlantis pretty soon.
Lookswise, developers Nakheel say the 1.4 million square foot development is “inspired by the heritage and culture of the emirates.” Centrepiece of The Pointe will be a fountain treating visitors to stunning water shows. There is also a 1.5km promenade that’s going to be perfect for strolling along in the cooler weather.
As well as still-to-be-confirmed shopping and dining concepts from around the world, The Pointe will have its own cinema and a play area for kids. Although it’s bound to be a big hit with tourists in search of holiday snaps, a supermarket, gym and beauty salons will be popular with residents too. A car park will have spaces for 1,600 vehicles.
Driving won’t be the only way to arrive. From these artist’s impressions, seems like The Palm Monorail will stop there.
Ali Rashid Lootah, chairman of Nakheel, said: “We are moving ever closer to opening one of the most eagerly-awaited destinations in Dubai. The Pointe will be an iconic, must-see attraction offering remarkable lifestyle experiences for residents and tourists. Inspired by the heritage and culture of the emirates, it will be a stunning, vibrant and unique addition to Dubai’s dining, retail and entertainment scene.”
