Two online shopping giant have struck a deal that should be good news for savvy shoppers.
Middle Eastern e-commerce site noon and massive online marketplace eBay have joined forces to make it easier for consumers in the region to buy the “best of eBay’s offerings” from around the world, including from its US sellers.
noon powered by eBay will be available in the UAE from the second half of 2018 on the noon app, mobiles and desktops. When it launches, customers in the UAE can order eBay’s top-selling global products. noon will handle all orders and returns, which should mean lower postage costs, faster delivery and no need to use global shipping services.
It makes things really interesting for for those of us who love shopping online, because noon’s Dubai-based rival Souq.com was acquired by US shopping portal Amazon last year. Fellow US firm eBay launched in 1995 and has more than a billion listings that bargain hunters can bid on or buy outright. It looks like the auctions won’t be available on noon’s version of the platform, however we’re still excited to see what goodies will be on offer.
