Not only is National Day weekend is a holiday for many us, there are also tons of fun things to do and more time to do them in.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority announced the Metro is running later, so there’s more time to make the most of your time off. Red Line and Green Line stations will open 10am Friday until 1am the next day. On Saturday and Sunday, Red Line trains run 5am-1am, and 5am-12am Monday. The Green Line starts from 5.30am Thursday and finishes 1am Friday. Catch the Dubai Tram on Friday between 9am-1am the next day and 6am-1am Saturday to Monday.
Drivers, on National Day (2nd December) and Monday parking charges are suspended . You’ll still need to pay at multi-storey car parks and on Tuesday (4th December) fees start again.
Bus and marine transport timings will also be altered over the holiday and customer happiness centres close. See the RTA’s website for a full schedule of changes.
The country’s 47th National Day is a four-day weekend for both private and public sector workers who don’t usually work Friday and Saturday. We’re being gifted the leave to commemorate the founding of the United Arab Emirates in 1971, when the seven emirates of the former Trucial States came together.
