We can now nominate our favourite celebrities to appear on Dubai’s Hollywood-style ‘Walk of Fame.’
The carpet of stars in Downtown Dubai was announced in March 2019. When complete, it will feature more than 400 stars and eventually celebrate 10,000 famous people from around the world – four times bigger than the legendary Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
Voting is now open for the first 400 famous names who will appear on the stellar walkway. We can vote for up to three people, with nominations closing at midnight on 31st May 2019.
Celebrities from the worlds of music, film, art, architecture, sports, literature, social media influence, innovation and social work are sought.
In April, Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab became the first person to be honoured with a star.
Another 399 high flyers will be announced at an undoubtedly glitzy ceremony in October. Anyone who has “positively influenced the world through their work in various fields including music, film, art, architecture, sports, and literature, as well as social influencers” could be included, says creator Emaar.
Emaar hopes the attraction could eventually outshine the 10 million-plus annual visitors to the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, where 2,600 stars stretch along 18 blocks of the legendary Californian neighbourhood.
Who will you vote for?
