Passengers flying out of Dubai International Airport this weekend should check their flight times.
DXB will close its Northern Runway briefly from Friday (24th May) to Monday (27th May) for some temporary repair work. Some flights will be rescheduled and some have been moved to Dubai World Central Airport, near Jebel Ali.
The closures will take place from 5pm-7pm; 4pm to 7pm on Sunday and 5pm-7pm on Monday. They come towards the end of the 45-day closure of the Southern Runway, which ends on 30th May.
If you’re travelling on these dates, check with your airline before heading to the airport, as some Emirates and Flydubai flights are affected.
Dubai Airports says its “necessary maintenance and upgrades as part of the ongoing runway rehabilitation programme.”
Passengers travelling via Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central) will spend less on taxis. Dubai Taxi Corporation is slashing flag rates for passengers by 75 per cent until 30th May, so fares will start from AED 5, rather than AED 20.
