Taa-daa – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has unveiled a snazzy new service centre.
The new facility at RTA HQ in Marrakech Street, Garhoud, will cut down on hassle and waiting times because it’s a three-in-one centre with some flashy features.
Enter the reception lounge and there’s an automated queuing system linked with smart monitors. That leads to 15 counters for tracking transactions in seven departments like traffic, vehicle licensing and monitoring and enforcement.
Mattar Al Tayer, director general of the RTA, officially opened the 472 square metres “five-star facility” that also caters to RTA employees and taxi number plates clients.
The transport authority says it “saves clients the hassles of moving around different floors and offices of RTA building for procedural matters. Thus, it fosters a perfect environment for advancing customers satisfaction and happiness.”
Can’t make it to Garhoud? The RTA’s I-Counter smart customer service centre will let us make self-service transactions round-the-clock from taxis and public transport.
Find four machines at Umm Ramool Customer Happiness Centre, three at the Customer Happiness Centre in Deira, another three on Dubai Ferry and the RTA’s Smart Bus.
Eventually, they’ll be rolled out to malls, Al Barsha and Al Tawar Happiness Centres and to 700 of the RTA’s taxis. More services will be added, including refunding payments, and topping up nol and parking cards.
