Already hankering for another break? Good news, the next public holiday is likely to be in weeks.
The Hijri or Islamic New Year is predicted to fall on 31st August.
That’s dependent on a moon sighting and hasn’t yet been confirmed by the UAE government.
However, it could mean a long weekend at the end of August, as that date is a Saturday. In 2018 we enjoyed a Thursday off work and the religious occasion was also marked with a ‘dry night,’ where the sale of alcohol was suspended.
Earlier this year, the UAE’s cabinet announced that private and public sector holidays would be aligned.
