Five violations of the summer midday working ban are being investigated.
For three months from 15th June, it’s illegal for construction site staff to labour outside during the hottest part of the day.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation received 42 complaints that this law was being breached.
Five of these reports were approved after its inspection teams visited construction sites.
People were encouraged to report violations by calling the ministry on 80060 or visiting its customer happiness centres around the UAE.
Workers and their employers were made aware of the ruling in brochures written in Arabic, English and Urdu and at workshops and lectures organised by the ministry.
Companies found to have breached the law can be fined AED 5,000 per worker, up to AED 50,000.
