This weekend you’ll be able to run a section of Dubai’s famous 14-lane superhighway for absolutely free.
It’s one of the latest, free, ingenious fitness activities announced by the team behind the Dubai Fitness Challenge. On Friday 8th November you’ll be able to tick the Sheikh Zayed Road off your fantasy running track list.
As much fun as racing Lambourgini’s in your Yeezys would be, safety dictates that the road will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the session. There will be a 5km fun run in addition to a slightly more competitive, but equally fun 10km run. Both routes start and end at Dubai World Trade Centre. And if you set off one of the speed cameras, you know you’re onto a good lap time.
Check out the handy guide to road closure timings posted by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which also includes suggestions for *impersonates sat nav voice* alternative highlighted routes.
If you are a participant in the race or using the roads on the day of #DubaiRUN, Friday, November 8th, check the map for the road closures. #DubaiFitnessChallenge @DXBFitChallenge @DubaiPoliceHQ @DXBMediaOffice pic.twitter.com/4B58BrXuUQ
