The capital’s list of can’t-miss cultural landmarks is about to get even bigger.
The Zayed National Museum, which has been designed by those clever UK architects, Foster and Partners, is on track to open to the public in 2021.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhab said that construction of the museum is making significant progress.
Located on Saadiyat Island, the design will incorporate a striking design falcon wings while inside various galleries will showcase the UAE’s history and journey as an independent, progressive nation.
It doesn’t stop there. The museum will feature design elements embodying Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s values and personality.
The Zayed National Museum will form part of the three mega museums on Saadiyat Island.
The other two are the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2017, and the soon-to-be constructed Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
