Ain’t no party like a Dubai NYE party! Especially as not one accident was reported from official celebrations around the emirate.

That’s right – Dubai Police General HQ confirmed that public displays held on New Year’s Eve 2020 were trouble-free.

More than two million of us enjoyed spectacular stress-free fireworks at events around Dubai (and about the same amount used public transport to get there).

Dubai’s Ruler was so impressed by how 31st December went down that even took time out to give thanks on Twitter.

Tweeting on New Year’s Day (which was a public holiday, FYI), His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “Dubai celebrated the arrival of the world in 2020 yesterday. More than two million people celebrated on the streets of Dubai. About a billion people also saw their celebrations. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the organization, the transportation, the protection, the media, and the provision of safety for all. Thanks to the Dubai team.”

That’s a very coveted hat tip to all involved! How did your last day of the year go down? Tag in your pics on Instagram.
