A happiness festival is coming to the UAE

Fireworks RAK

Throwback to 2017, when happiness became a major buzzword for the United Arab Emirates. We launched a Happiness Council and created a Ministry for Happiness.

Now Ras Al Khaimah has set up its own Happiness Festival, which equates to four days of fun on sunny Al Marjan Island. The emirate has teamed up with street food fanatics Truckers DXB to take over a beach front spot to celebrate and smile.

Head there from 14th-17th to enjoy carnival games, interactive art installations, competitions, street artists, English and Arabic-speaking comedians, art, activities for kids and Emirati singer Mohamed Al Shehhi on stage. Evenings (apart from Saturday) will be given over to a huge display of fireworks to light up the sky above RAK.

Food trucks galore will keep stomachs satisfied, with Frings, Digity Dog, Sir Loin all set to pull up at RAK’s first ever container park.

Entry to the Happiness Festival is a joy-inducing AED 10 and kids under 12 go free. Timings are 5pm-11pm on Wednesdays, 5pm-midnight Thursday, 3pm to midnight Friday and 3pm-11pm Saturday. Fireworks are 8.30pm Wednesday-Friday.

Sounds road trip worthy? Thrillseekers with cash to share could combine the visit with a ride on RAK’s new Jebel Jais Flight, officially the world’s longest zipline.
