We found a perfect staycation spot by Dubai Creek

Zabeel House Al Seef - Rooms (8)-min

There’s a new hotel on the banks of Dubai Creek. Zabeel House by Jumeirah Al Seef, promises a pocket friendly prices with funky flourishes.

Zabeel House’s style and ethos is a real blend of tradition meets modernity – even the ginger shot that you’ll be offered on arrival is mixed with fresh saffron from Dubai’s Spice Souk. From here, you can actually check out where that saffron comes from – the new hotel is the ideal base for intrepid travellers to check out the spice, textile and gold souks and ride an abra across the Creek.

Not that you’ll be eager to leave the hotel – the 200 “edgy but comfortable” rooms have unusual design features that your Insta friends are going to love – there are free-standing bathtubs, hammocks that just demand a good lounging and glow-in-the-dark wall art. They start from AED 297 a night and come in three sizes, for solo travellers, couples or families.

Zen can also be found in the hotel’s gym, sauna and steam room, with two treatment rooms promising more relaxation. Bring your trainers and you can walk or run along the Al Seef promenade that stretches for 2.1kilometres.

Zabeel House - Sol Rootop (8)-min

Developer Meraas’ newly-opened Al Seef neighbourhood has 90 restaurants and 350 shops. If you prefer to do your dining in-house, casual Nyon serves Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern bites. Alfresco restaurant Skafos will open after the summer, where gastropub food is served on a terrace against the backdrop of the busy waters of Dubai Creek. On the seventh floor, Sol Sky Bar meets the edge of the rooftop pool, where you can drink in views of oldest wind towers of the Creek to the newest skyscrapers of Downtown Dubai.

If it’s your mind that needs feeding, artwork and books from Dubai’s creative community fill the lobby, where you will also find Chapters bar, so you can sip and read the hours away.

Zabeel House Al Seef is the second hotel in Jumeirah’s Upscale Casual collection, after its little brother Zabeel House MINI by Jumeirah opened nearby earlier in the year. There are plans to open another Zabeel House in Jumeirah and further afield, in London.

Open rates for room-only start from AED 297 per night (excluding taxes and fees). Visit www.zabeelhouse.com to be one of the first to stay there.
