La Liga president Javier Tebas accused the European Club Association, which includes clubs that regularly compete in continental competitions, of destroying football and praised the recently established European Club Union project, which wants to represent other clubs.

Debas said: “The Super League wants to destroy European football very quickly because it is the best model for it to be destroyed very quickly. For the European Club Association, I think that by using it, the decline of the game will slow down, if there is no reaction from clubs that do not play in Europe, in the failure of football in our local leagues. can.”

Debas’s comments came as he attended a new European Football Club Association in Brussels, which would bring together professional teams backed by “La Liga” and seek to counter the current influence of the European Club Association. Led by Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

According to Debas, the association does not represent European clubs, but only elite clubs, accusing the association of 245 member clubs, including “BSG”, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, of setting regulations that restrict specific clubs for the sake of specific clubs. .

Debas emphasized that only 5% of professional clubs in Europe regularly play in European competitions such as the Champions League or the Europa League, for which he described a new European Club Association, which aims to unite the remaining clubs. The program is open to all European clubs, meaning it includes those that are not. Participate in continental championships.
