Orange is one of the most popular winter fruits. Most people take it fast. Because it contains many nutrients, nutrients and vitamins.
In addition. The study, published in the scientific journal The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that eating one orange a day reduced the risk of blindness by almost 60 percent.
The authors of the study pointed out that the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, a common cause of severe vision loss in people 50 years and older, increases with age, but eating oranges will protect them from it.
The researchers explained that this relationship comes as a result of oranges containing plenty of flavonoids that improve the health of the eyes and protect them from the aforementioned disease.
Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory properties and work to boost the body’s immune system.
Although these flavonoids are found in many fruits and vegetables, the relationship between being in the orange and protecting the eyes from blindness is not yet clear.
The researchers were able to achieve these results by targeting an average of 2,037 adults aged 49 years.
Results show that people who regularly eat oranges have a lower risk of developing blindness with age than those who do not.
Researchers have confirmed that eating orange fruit once a week, along with its various health benefits, has a positive effect in this regard.
