Dubai, June 22, 2021 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rachel Al Maktoum has announced legislation establishing the Digital Authority of Dubai or Dubai as Governor, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

Under the new law, DTA will be the official body in Dubai for all matters related to information technology, data, smart and digital transformation and information security.

The Smart Dubai Department, the Smart Dubai Government, the Dubai Data Institute, the Dubai Electronic Security Center and the Dubai Statistics Center will operate under the new authority. The DTA has both its own judicial identity and its own legal authority.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rochet said the establishment of Dubai’s Digital Authority aims to further enhance Dubai’s brilliant and digital transformation, by providing high quality digital services to individuals and businesses, and by maintaining the highest standards. Internet Security.

Sheikh Mohammed reiterated that the main objectives of DTA are to follow the latest advances in information technology that accelerate technological advancement, support social and economic prosperity and improve the quality of life of the people.

The Authority’s objectives include revitalizing Dubai’s economic cycle by facilitating digital transformation across all government agencies and increasing the level of efficiency and effectiveness of ministers by automating their tasks, their functions and services.

The DTA is also responsible for developing, approving and managing policies and strategies aimed at advancing the development of this key sector.
